Now that he's directed an episode of "The Flash," Kevin Smith has made it public that he'd like to tackle "Arrow" next -- which stars the Emerald Archer he wrote in the early '00s -- but in a writing capacity. Star Stephen Amell has now responded to the idea, with considerable enthusiasm.
On his Facebook page, Amell shared a photo addressing his new goatee:
And in one of the comments, a fan mentioned Smith's idea for an "Arrow" arc starring Onomatopoeia -- one of the characters Smith created in the comics -- which Amell responded to with great support...
Smith then shared a screen-cap of the response on Twitter, re-iterating that he'd love to write for the series, scripting a two-part "Se7en"-inspired arc with Onomatopoeia:
I wanna do 2 very SEVEN-ish @CW_Arrow ep's w/ #Onomatopoeia! I'd love to get my words in your mouth, @StephenAmell! https://t.co/kOZtOYItbd

Considering Smith's positive experience on "The Flash" and his existing relationship with the producers, it sounds like he has a good shot. Next he's set to tackle an episode of "The Flash" in the first half of Season 3.
"Arrow" airs Wednesdays at 8/7c on The CW.
